Pure and ultrapure water refers to primary-treated feed water that has been purified through advanced treatment methods such as ion exchange resin, RO (Reverse Osmosis) membrane, and sterilization to remove inorganic salts, organics, microorganisms, and dissolved gases. It is also known as deionized water, DIW (De-ionized Water), UPW (Ultrapure Water), or Blank Water.
Pure and ultrapure water are classified by the degree of ion removal, measured by Specific Resistivity (MΩ) — the higher the value, the purer the water. They are used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor and LCD industries, laboratory cleaning solutions, and solvent production.
